Gary Robert Foster

June 10, 1947 — November 9, 2018

Gary was born in Miami Florida to Robert and Corrine Furtaw Foster. He grew up in Brighton Michigan where he met his future wife and partner Elizabeth Ann Baetcke, the youngest daughter of Philip F. and Lura K. Baetcke. Gary served 1 tour in Vietnam and after returning he and Ann married in September of 1968. A lifelong Marine, Gary always exemplified what it means to be a proud veteran.

Papa G attained a business degree and became an Account Executive at Mitsubishi Electronics America in 1979 and dominated for 32 years. He recently celebrated 50 years of marriage with Ann. Enjoyed a life long love / hate relationship with his favorite four letter word, Golf. Papa G was looked up to constantly by his two sons Philip and Michael. He became an accomplished self taught home cook / grill master / sous chef / and a red wine aficionado. Mike and his wife Trisha Smith Foster gave Papa G and Ann three amazing grandchildren, Elexa, Jacob and Lily. He will also be missed deeply by his loyal friend and shadow, a 100 pound golden retriever named Kelso, and a grand pup named Fin.
