Gadis Pepper

Gadis Waine Pepper, Sr., born on July 31, 1938 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Early in life, he served as a Fireman Apprentice in the United States Navy. He was a native of Charlotte and spent most of his life self-employed with Pepper's Soda Systems. Gadis was a devout Christian and praised God for his church family at Seventh Day Adventist Church of Monroe. He was surpassed in death by his mother, Annie Virginia Reid Pepper and grandmother, Ethel Lee Bruton Reid. Funeral Services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday August 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Mills officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Surviving Gadis is his wife of 24 years, Charlene Pepper. Sister Patricia Bullock and husband Thomas, Daughter Robin Mullis and husband Steve, Son Waine Pepper and wife Kristie, and Son Thomas Pepper. Daughters by marriage Teresa Purser and husband Jeff, Kim Murray and husband Greg, and son by marriage Michael Helms. Gadis was a loving grandfather and will be dearly missed by his 17 grandchildren: Christie Helms, Bridget Summerfield and husband Charles, Megan Pressley and husband Wesley, Elizabeth Allen and husband Dustin, Niki Mingo and husband Benny, Dustin Pepper, Shawn Helms, Shelby Helderman and husband Michael, Lindsey Purser and fiancé Austin Reep, Kaylyn Pepper, Kourtney Jones, Luke Mullis, Bayley Jones, Jacob Hutchins, Meredith Mullis, Morgan Purser, and Jillian Pepper. 10 great-grandchildren include, Charlie Summerfield, Ashley Summerfield, Brayden Helderman, Emma Pressley, Hunter Summerfield, Addyson Pressley, Cody Allen, Aubree Rogers, Liam Pressley, and Maggie Jane Allen, nephew David Bullock and niece Sandra Fincher, and 3 great-nieces and nephews.
