Frank Tandy Street, Jr., 94 of Cornelius, NC passed away peacefully on December 9, 2017 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC. Frank was born July 22, 1923 in Henderson, Ky to the late Frank Tandy Street and Anne Smith Street. He was the oldest son of three children, surviving his brother and sister, George Street and Elizabeth (Lib) Street Hodge.
He attended Barrett High School, Henderson, Ky., Marion Military Institute, Marion, Al., U. S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., Georgia Tech, Atlanta, Ga., American Management Assn. “Presidents School”, Hamilton, NY, Speak Easy Public Speaking, Atlanta, Ga. Central Piedmont Comm. College Charlotte, NC, Cannon Aircraft Flying Lessons. He was an ENSIGN Gunnery Officer of the US Navy aboard the USS Knapp and the USS Meredith, Honorable Discharged July 11, 1947, serving in WWII.
He worked for McDevitt and Street Construction Company Vice President, Executive Vice President, Division MGR and Business Development 1947-1987, Resource Properties Corp, Vice President 1987-1990, Street Hill Construction Company President 1987-1990, Ram Realty, Commercial 1994-1998, Southern Realty 1998-2004, Piedmont Row Realty Commercial and Residential Broker in Charge 2004-2015.
While serving on the board of the Salvation Army, he was a member of Relocation Committee, 1991; Temple Corps Property Committee, 1993; Chairman Property Committee, 1997; Finance Committee Member; Nimination committee Member; Property Committee Member. Awarded Certificate of Appreciation, Community Enhancement Award, Certificate of Membership Emeritus.
He is survived by his wife Juanita Moore Hill Street, married for 52 years, his son Frank L. Street and his wife Katrina of Atlanta, GA., his daughter Ann Street and her husband Jody Page, and their son Ryan Page (deceased) of Raleigh, NC., his daughter Kimberly Street and her husband Erich Kintrup of Clarksville, TN., grandchildren; Meredith Street and her husband Nick Caligiuri and their son Cameron, Whitney Street and her husband Luke Scharf and their children Ethan, William and Samantha, Jennifer Kintrup and her husband Kin Segura and Elizabeth Kintrup. He is survived by his siblings’ children; Katherine Hodge Adams, Tandy Hodge Seery, James Hodge and wife Irene, Anne Street, Dr. Lynn Street and her husband Donald Margulies and their son Miles.
Frank was a loving husband, father, Grand Father, a friend to all and will be missed dearly. He always had a lovely personality, a sweet smile on his face and kind words for everyone. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 1:00-2:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Paul Turbedsky officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery.
