Frank James Phelan, Jr.

Frank James Phelan, Jr., 77, of Cornelius, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 26th, 2018 at his residence.

Frank was born May 4th, 1941 in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Rose Magennis Phelan and Francis Phelan, Sr.  

He is survived by his wife, Rose Slusky Phelan; daughter, Megan Phelan Bryant and husband Jeremy; son, Sean Phelan and wife Ellen; grandchildren, Riley Phelan, Elizabeth Phelan, Ellery Bryant, and Abby Bryant; brother, Robert Phelan and wife Mary; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Annette and Wes Bowers;  and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Frank loved spending time with his family and had a special relationship with his brother, Robert.  He loved watching and playing golf, enjoyed spending time at the beach, going to restaurants and the movies. He and his wife, Rose, raised their children in Gaithersburg, MD, where the couple spent most of their married life.  They also enjoyed living in Charleston, SC for 10 years prior to moving to Cornelius. Frank was also a proud graduate of Georgetown University.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19th, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00am, both at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville.  A reception will follow immediately.
