Frances Tarleton Wheeler,68, of Hickory, NC passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 after battling metastatic colon cancer for seven years. She was born January 6, 1945 in Wadesboro, NC to Juanita Atkinson and the late Glyn Tarleton. Frances resided in Hickory, NC since 1988. She had a Master's Degree in Education and retired from Western Piedmont Community College in 2010. Along with her mother Juanita Atkinson, she is survived by her three children; Heather Sutorius (Andy), Scott Wheeler (Stephanie), Gretchen Thiessens (Jarred); brother, Robert B. Atkinson(Edith); five grandchildren, Alexis Sutorius, Skylyn Wheeler, Searia Wheeler, Bodie Wheeler and Gavin Thiessens. Frances was preceded in death by her father Glyn Tarleton and stepfather Robert D. Atkinson.
