Frances Horton McKinney

Mrs. Frances Horton McKinney, 70, of Iron Station NC formerly of Huntersville, NC died Saturday July 9, 2011 at her residence. Born December 14, 1940 in Mecklenburg County she was a daughter of the late Carl Eustace Horton and Ella Mae Green Horton. She graduated from Christian Brothers College in Memphis, TN, was a member of ABWA in Charlotte and retired from International Paper Company. One of her greatest joys was taking each of her nieces and nephews to Disney World. Frances was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church in Iron Station. A devoted Christian she embraced her life after death with the Lord in her heart Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday July 12, at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Church. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Mae Clemmer and husband David of Charlotte, Shirley Smith and husband Clyde of Fort Mill, SC, Carolyn Phillips and husband Dan of Roam Mt, TN; brothers, Larry Horton and wife Jan of Cornelius, Jack Horton and wife Lydia of Franklin, NC; numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and dear friend, Vickie Smith of Memphis TN.
