Frances Pasley Buttolph

Frances Pasley Buttolph, 92, passed away after a brief illness on March 30, 2014. Frances was born on July 21, 1921 in Thomaston, GA. She was preceded in death by her dear husband Robert Elliott Buttolph, whom she met and married in Anchorage Alaska, while working for Western Union during World War II. She is survived by three children Stephen (Judy), Barbara (Ronny), and Brian (Ellen), three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Frances graduated from Oglethorpe College and earned a master's degree in education from Georgia State. She taught for several years at Morgan Falls Elementary in Roswell before serving as principal of Hammond Elementary in Sandy Springs and later at Esther Jackson Elementary in Roswell. Frances was a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church for over 60 years. She thought the world of her Sunday School class. Frances enjoyed playing bridge with friends, square dancing, travel, great conversation and her family. As she would say, "I left no stone unturned." The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on June 7, 2014 at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Red Cross.
