Floyd Thomas Lentz, 92, of Cornelius, NC passed away at his home on October 31, 2017. He was born in Woodleaf, NC on December 2, 1924 to the late Jeremiah Ruce Lentz and Mary Grace Lentz. Floyd served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, NC.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his five brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Lentz; two step-children, Kim Clark of Cornelius, and Dave Clark of Davidson; several step-grandchildren, including: Brian Cook and Becky Hamrick; step great-grandchildren; step great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Floyd enjoyed all sports; he especially loved tennis and Duke Basketball. He participated in Senior State Games of NC, where he won several medals.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, 355 E. Ridge Rd, Salisbury, NC.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Men in Mission at Bethel Lutheran Church, Salisbury, NC or Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius, NC.
