Felino Bacalzo, 89, of Charlotte, NC passed away on December 26, 2023.
Felino was born in Chicago, IL on May 1, 1934. Felino was an architect with A.E. Epstein in Chicago, IL for 20 years. Then, he worked for Cary Concrete in Cary, IL as a draftsman.
Felino served in the U.S. Army. He was a talented artist, loved music, and watched sports. He was an avid reader of WWII books and enjoyed crossword puzzles. He played piano accompaniments for his daughter Cynthia's trumpet solos when she was in high school. He also enjoyed playing tennis and jogging with his daughter Elizabeth.
Felino and Loretta loved to travel, spending time with family and enjoyed the card games played with Loretta's sister , Jeanette Hocking. He was always helpful, kind, and funny. He made Halloween costumes for his grandchildren. His greatest joys were his three grandchildren.
Felino was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso and Maxima (Rillera) Bacalzo, and his siblings, Pacifico (Agnes) Bacalzo, Conrado (Beatrice) Bacalzo, Golondrina (Kenneth) Clemente and Elvira Bacalzo.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Loretta (Clemente) Bacalzo; daughter, Elizabeth Onia (Cipriano); daughter, Cynthia Germaine (Dolan); grandchildren, Jordan Onia, Jason Onia, and Grace Onia, and sister-in-law Jeanette (Joseph P.) Hocking.
Per Felino's request, no funeral arrangements will be planned.
