Faye Starr of Mooresville, North Carolina and West Bloomfield, Michigan passed away on August 8, 2020 at the age of 93. Faye was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 2, 1926 to the late Marcus and Ida Ronis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Louis Starr.
She was the cherished mother of Sylvia (Ron) Marabate, Janice Starr (Jeff Lawrence), and Craig Starr. Beloved Nana to Mark (Christen) Marabate and Allison (Blake) Rochkind, adoring GiGi to her great granddaughter Anna Marabate and special Aunt to niece Judy Ronis. She was predeceased by siblings the late Alice (the late Victor) Ross, Benjamin Ronis, and David (Barbara) Ronis.
Faye was loved by all who were fortunate to be in her life. Her talents were boundless. She was a gourmet cook who loved to teach others. Her dinner parties and holiday meals were legendary as she loved to entertain. She was an avid tennis player, traveled the world, read voraciously, sewed and knit, loved playing Scrabble and poker, and was a devoted volunteer to numerous charitable organizations. Faye received her degree in elementary education from Wayne State University and taught for a few years in the Ferndale public schools. She was truly a Renaissance woman.
A memorial service celebrating the life of this amazing woman will be held in the future.
