Evelyn Elizabeth Howard Wilhelm

Evelyn Elizabeth Howard Wilhelm, 91 of Huntersville, NC died March 24, 2012 at the Huntersville Oaks with her family by her side. Mrs. Wilhelm was born February 21, 1921 in Iredell County to the late Robert and Mary Turbyfill Howard. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kermit Wilhelm along with siblings Margaret Cobb, Jack Howard and Alda Barnette. She retired from Swift & Company after twenty years of service and was the oldest living member of Gilead ARP. She was also an active member of the Minnie Alexander Circle. Her interests included; gardening, reading, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She devoted much of her life as a caregiver to family members. Mrs. Wilhelm is survived by her son; Doug Wilhelm and wife Joann of Cornelius; daughter, Kay Ragan and husband John of Denver, NC; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Gilead ARP with the Rev. Robert Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 7-9 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
