Evelyn Ashe Smith

Mrs. Evelyn Ashe Smith, 73, of Murrells Inlet, SC formerly of Charlotte died Friday February 10, 2012 at the Hospice House in Georgetown SC. Born November 16, 1938 in Jackson County NC she was the daughter of the late Frank Shirley Ashe and Martha Locust Ashe. A celebration of her life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 14 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Pastor Grace Conti and Pastor Walter Burgess officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. in the N.C. State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include her sons; Wade (Donna) Smith of Huntersville, David (Rhonda) Ashe of Midland, Douglas (Sherri) Ashe of Pawley's Island, SC, Jackie (Mary) Smith of Salisbury, Jay Smith of Charlotte; daughter, Scarlett Daugherty of Mt. Holly; brother, James Ashe of Louisiana; thirteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Jack A. Smith, June 2010 and son, James R.
