Evelyn Grice Coulter, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and beautiful spirit, 93, of Cornelius, NC passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC. She was born September 19, 1920 in Lincoln County, one of six children of the late Bessie Sigmon Grice and Robert Lee Grice. Evelyn was a 1940 graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte. She married the love of her life on August 11, 1944. Having been married in St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Charlotte, she remained a dedicated member and loyal Christian until her death. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, George M. Coulter, Sr., three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Paul Grice and two sisters, Mildred and Elizabeth Grice. She was also predeceased by an infant grandson, Sean Thomas Hilliard. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, George M "Buddy" Coulter, J. (Carolyn) of Mooresville, NC, Raymond R. Coulter (Sandy) and Donald G. Coulter (Pat) of Iron Station, NC and John P. Coulter (Marianne) of Franklin, NC and their daughter, Barbara C. Hilliard (Chuck) of Cornelius, NC. She also leaves grandchildren, Richard Brian Coulter of Monroe, Shannon Coulter Howell (Trey) of Huntersville, Raymond Robert Coulter, Jr. of Belmont, NC, Jennifer Anne Coulter of Gastonia, NC, Matthew Sean Hilliard of Anderson, SC, Ashley Hilliard Simon (Scott) of Cornelius, Angelia Marie Coulter of Concord, Tracey Coulter Wright (Patrick) of Concord, NC, Madison Banks Coulter and Olivia Hayden Coulter of Franklin, NC. She has five great granddaughters, Victoria and Addie Coulter of Belmont, Hannah and Madelyn Howell of Huntersville and Savannah Simon of Cornelius. She is also survived by one sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the most loving, caring, giving person to all who knew her and will truly be missed by all who loved her. Later in her life she created the most beautiful porcelain dolls, attaining the title of "Grand Master of Doll Making" from the Doll Artisan Guild. Memorial Services will be on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 3200 Park Road, Charlotte followed by visitation in the Fellowship Hall.
