Ernest C. Wesch III, the essence of a gentle soul, went to his eternal resting place on November 26, 2014 at the age of 61. Born in Patterson Army Hospital, Fort Monmouth, NJ , he was the son of Jacquelyn Stevenson of Middletown, NJ and the late Ernest C. Wesch Jr. of Elberon, NJ. In addition to his mother, Jacquelyn, Ernie (Neff), is survived by his siblings, Thomas L. Wesch of Atlantic Highlands, NJ., Candy Kaufman-Wesch of Charlotte, NC, Wendy J. Wesch Bingle, of Jacksonville, FL, Edward T. Hanley and Cindy Hanley Knoerzer of Ashburn, VA. Uncle Ernie had 5 nephews, 9 nieces, 8 great nephews and 5 great nieces. Ernie attended Shore Regional High School class of '72. In his youth Ernie was an avid surfer in North Long Branch Beach NJ, as well as many other beaches throughout the USA and Puerto Rico. As a very talented artist, Ernie was an award winning modeler specializing in Military Mobile Artillery from WWI & II. Ernie was a proud Eagle Scout, a retired professional painter and resided his last six years in Charlotte, NC. He was a lover of camping, fishing, art and nature and loved and cared for any stray cat that crossed his path. He was an aficionado of Jeopardy a lifelong Cowboys fan. There will be a dedication memorial service to honor his life in the near future in his hometown on the Jersey Shore. There will be a visitation on Monday December 1, 2014 from 6-7 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville with a funeral service to follow at 7 pm in the Chapel of the funeral home.
