Mrs. Emma Casso Tovar, 93, of Churchill Assisted Living in Mooresville NC,formerly of El Paso, Texas died Sunday June 2, 2013 at Levine Dickson Hospice House. Born February 24, 1920 in El Paso, Texas she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lopez Casso and Adela Solis Casso. Mrs. Tovar taught English as a second language for fourteen years, was PTA President of all public schools in El Paso, was a former realtor and a member of St. Patrick's Alter Society. She was a former owner of a flower shop, past president of West Texas-New Mexico Floral Association, past president of Desert Garden Club, past president of Ikbona Floral Club. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, June 12, 2013 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in El Paso, Texas. A funeral Mass will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Karen Ruth Tovar and friend Dino of Cornelius; sons Martin Wayne Tovar of California and Rick T. Tovar and wife Pam P. of Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Flores of California; 7 nephews and 3 nieces. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Toby Tovar, Sr, daughter, Yvonne A. McLaughlin; son, H. Toby Tovar, Jr and nephew, Martin David Tovar.
