Elsie Bellucci Whitcomb

Elsie Bellucci Whitcomb, 103, of Denver, North Carolina passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.

She was born June 21, 1918 in Manhattan to the late John Bellucci and Maria LaPlaca Bellucci.  In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Whitcomb; infant son, James Zammataro; and her sister, Rose Costa.

Elsie never slowed down, not even at the age of 103.  She will always be remembered for her zest for life, her strength, and her will to live each day to the fullest. She enjoyed watching Fox News, playing bingo, dancing, scrapbooking, and traveling to Las Vegas.  Above all, Elsie loved her family dearly and cherished time spent with them.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her daughters, Jeanette Lezama and Susan Manna (Anthony), both of Denver; five grandchildren, Michelle, Danielle, Jennifer, Tracey, and Kevin; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one niece and one nephew.

Funeral prayer service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 537 N. Highway 16, Denver, NC 28037.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
