Elnita Jordan Wallace

Elnita Jordan Wallace “Grannie Wallace”, 93, of Charlotte, NC passed away on January 17, 2017. She was born September 18, 1923 in Conway, SC to the late Ben and Isla Jordan, and later moved to Charlotte on July 6, 1957.

She worked at Park-N-Shop in the late 50’s and early 60’s, and then retired from A&P in 1978. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Elwood H. Wallace; daughter, Erma Brown; sisters, Delia Owens, Elease Capps; brothers, Lucius Jordan , Billy Jordan, and Norman Jordan.

She is survived by her children, Everette Jordan and wife Wanda, Miriam Moore Shick and husband Ken, Ernest Jordan, Jr. and wife Pam; step children, Phyllis and Tommy Wallace; siblings, Curtis Jordan, Kirby Jordan, Margaret Hucks, Ethel Jordan, Hilda Thompson, Bryan Jordan; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Oakdale Road, Charlotte, NC.

A funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. There will also be a viewing for an hour prior to the service on Friday. Following the service she will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
