Elmer L. Knoedler, 100,of Davidson, NC died on April 4, 2012 at the Pines in Davidson. He was born in Gloucester,NJ on Feb. 12, 1912 to the late Elmer L. and Carolyn (Belle) Knoedler. Elemer was preceded in death by his wife Mabel Dyer Knoedler, whom he married on January 15, 1966, in 2003. He is survived by his Step-son, Hap Todd and wife Cathy of Cornelius, NC, a granddaughter, JoEllen Soesbee of Pasadena, Md., Grandson, Jeff Todd and wife Cindy of Cleveland, NC and Grandson, Mike Todd and wife Jean of Troutman, NC. Elmer also had 7 Great Grandchildren. Elmer was a graduate of Cornell University in 1934. He received his Doctorate in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University in 1952. He became a Partner and Sr. Field Engineer with Shepherd T. Powell and Associates in Baltimore where he remained until 1982. He was the past member and chairman of the Baltimore American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He was also a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Mr. Knoedler lived in Baltimore and Sherwood Forest, Md. prior to moving to North Carolina in 1996,along with his wife, to be closer to his family.
