Elizabeth "Lib" Thornton

Elizabeth "Lib" Webster Thornton, 87 of Cornelius, NC passed away Friday, October 21, 2011. Lib was born in Mecklenburg County on June 22, 1924 to the late Charlie and Annie Webster Thornton. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James L. Thornton, her sister Ruth Stinson, daughter Carol Cranford, sons James (Charlie) Thornton, and John C. Thornton, grandson Matthew (Matt) Thornton, and nephew David Stinson. She is survived by her son Joseph (Joe) Thornton and his wife Teresa of Denver, NC, grandson Mark Thornton of Ft. Mill, SC, granddaughters Suzanne C. King and husband Whitney of Ash, NC, Emily Thornton of Mooresville, NC , and Elizabeth Thornton of Charlotte, NC. and daughter-in-law Sheila Thornton of Huntersville, NC. niece Teresa S Hoover and husband Rich of Charlotte, NC and cousin Bill Whitlow of Flint, MI. Friends will be received on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville,NC. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 12 noon at the Cornelius Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Carl Dumford officiating.
