Elizabeth Murphy

Mrs. Elizabeth Stuart Murphy, 82 of Huntersville, NC formerly of Big Flats, NY died July 10, 2014. Born September 21, 1931 in Cameron, NY she was a daughter of the late Winifred Stuart and Margaret Ready Stuart. Prior to retirement she was a cashier at Minier's Grocery in Big Flats, NY, enjoyed playing cards and loved taking trips with the Big Flats Senior Center. She loved spending time with family and friends and loved all children. Services will be conducted at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. A loving wife and mother, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John L. Murphy; children, Marlese (Geoffrey) Robbins of Gorham, ME, Theresa (Aaron) Auld of Millport, NY, Timothy (Kim) Murphy of Syracuse, NY and Patty (Jim) Quillinan of Huntersville, NC; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Margeson, Maxine Dartt, Barbara Bohomey; brothers, Donald, Jack and Tom Stuart and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn, and Phyllis; brothers, Billie, Robert, Roland, Kenneth, Ellis and Harry. Memorials may be made to Big Flats Senior Center, 476 Maple Street, Big Flats NY 14814. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Coltrane L.I.F.E. Center in Concord, NC, the Levine & Dickson Hospice House Southminster, Charlotte, NC and her home caregiver Corey from Home Careolina, for their outstanding care.
