Elizabeth "Betty" Bailey

Elizabeth Jane Moore Bailey, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away at her residence in Charlotte, NC on January 9, 2021.

The daughter of the late Lloyd E. Moore and Hazel P. Moore, she was born in Mannington, WV, on June 1, 1932.

After completing her bachelor's degree at Fairmont State College, she went on to become a grade school teacher, and was married to Roland James Bailey, MD.  After a brief teaching career, she became a proud stay-at-home Mother and wife raising 4 children.  She was an avid reader, a passionate WVU football fan, a fantastic cook, and was active with the Parkersburg Women’s Auxiliary of St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Parkersburg Junior League. She enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren and was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church.

Elizabeth is survived by her children Mark J. Bailey (Jill) of Simpsonville, SC; Scott R. Bailey (Abbie) of Charlotte, NC; Lisa Bailey Squicciarini of Charlotte, NC; and Kim Bailey Huwiler (Rob) of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren Nathan, Alex, Kristen, Jonathan, Sara, Peyton, Lauren and Jennifer; and her brother, James Moore of Clarksburg, WV.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland James Bailey; her brothers Charles Moore and Robert Moore; and her son-in-law, Robert Squicciarini.
