Elise Ritter Black Rushen

Elise Ritter Black Rushen, 92, of Charlotte, NC went home to be with her Lord Sunday December 29, 2013. Mother, beloved Grandmother, Aunt and Kind friend, her unconditional love will be missed most of all. Elise was born August 2, 1921 in Mecklenburg County to the late Leonard B. and Marylee Hucks Ritter. Elise, " Lil" as she was commonly known had a long career at White Westinghouse in Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Augustus Black and brother, Jack Ritter. She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Joyce Black Gilbert; granddaughter Tammi Gilbert Qasem and her husband Said; nieces, Janet Grice and Linda Odom and their loving families, all of Charlotte. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday January 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Felts officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
