Elinor "Noni" Strobel, a long-time resident of Davidson, NC died peacefully on April 4, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 28 at Spinnaker Point, 860 Jetton Street, Davidson, NC at 2:00 PM. 
 
Noni  was born in Highland Park, Illinois and was the only daughter of George Delano Crittenton and Mae Hesler Crittenton. In September of 1950, she married Sigmund Stanton Strobel  (who died July 2003) at St. Elisabeth‘s Episcopal Church in Glencoe, Illinois (where they both will be laid to rest). Together they raised three children. Noni’s only son, Charles Spencer Strobel preceded her in death, January 7, 2021.  
 
Noni is survived by her brother, George D. Crittenton (Linda née Anderson) of Raleigh, NC and family; daughters, Suzanne Hassett (Mark) of Nashville, TN, and Tracy McCort (Manny Torres) of Huntersville, NC; son, Charles Strobel’s widow, Anja Reichert of Luxembourg; grandchildren, Molly Blanton of Nashville, TN, Christopher Michael McCort of West Milford, NJ, Katherine Marie McCort of San Diego, CA., Melanie Alessandra Strobel of Vienna, Austria, and Oliver Sebastian Strobel of Luxembourg; as well as two great-grandchildren. 
 
Noni loved her good friends and neighbors, traveling, collecting antiques, and her views of Lake Davidson. From Southern Comfort charity fundraisers to impromptu gatherings, Noni’s parties were legendary. Her independent spirit and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her!
