Elba Vahan

Elba Lizzette Vahan, 61, of Huntersville, NC passed away on May 8. Elba was born in Ponce, PR on September 2, 1956 to the late Jose and Iris Martin. She is survived by her husband, Ted Vahan, and her children Tyler and Alondra who she loved dearly.  Also left behind are sisters Evelyn Martin, Carmen Gonzalez and Ileana Martin of Puerto Rico, Cusin Lugo of Orlando and Juanitin Martin of Maryland, as well as brother Jose Martin of Puerto Rico. 

Elba was a light that brightened the world of all she met.  A graduate of Inter-American University in San German, PR, Elba was a Social Worker who focused on helping young women and their families.  She was a friend and counsel to many.  She would light up a room with her smile.  Although she struggled with her health over the past 11 years, she still managed to have an amazing effect on all who met her.

The greatest ambition and responsibility in her life was that of being a mother.  Even when she was no longer to care for her children, she showed her love for them in so many ways. 

A visitation and memorial service will be held on May 12, 2018 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, with the visitation beginning at noon, and the memorial service starting at 1 P.M.
