Edward "Neil" Kuhl, 74, of Greensboro, NC passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC, after a short battle with brain cancer.
Born and raised in Elkins, West Virginia, Neil attended West Virginia University where he met his wife of almost 51 years, and graduated from George Washington University. Neil served in the US Army National Guard and began working for Western Electric in the Washington DC area in early adulthood. Neil valued hard work and dedication, as evidenced by his retiring from that same company (then AT&T) after 33 years of service.
Neil pursued a life long dream to visit all 50 States with his wife, Jeanee. They had successfully visited all 48 contiguous States together prior to his illness. He cherished a walk in the woods, including his annual camping, fishing, and hunting trips with his siblings, friends, and family in Glady, WV. He was a devoted husband and wonderful father. Neil loved the mountains, music, a good campfire, laughter, and especially an evening drive on a country road.
Neil was preceded in death by his wonderful parents; Rufus Christian and Bonnie Long Kuhl; his gracious older brother, Larry Kuhl, and his angel grandson, Reed Kuhl.
Neil is survived by his loving family; wife, Regena "Jeanee" Mae Durham Kuhl; son, Brian Kuhl and his wife Heather of Davidson; daughter, Amy Young and her husband Michael of Davidson; and four wonderful grandchildren, Evan, Ainsley, Piper and Grant. Neil is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Snelson; and brothers, Ron and Kenna Kuhl.
The family will hold a celebration of Neil's life on June 10th, 2018 from 2-5pm at his daughter's home in Davidson. Please reach out to the family for more details if you wish to attend.
