Edmund G Stegall

Mr. Edmund G. Stegall, 82 of Huntersville went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday January 7, 2012 at his residence. Born July 6, 1929 in Marshville, NC he was a son of the late Curtis and Alice Burgess Stegall. He was an active member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church where he served as Session member, Deacon and Elder. He was a former N.C. State Commissioner of the Stan Musial Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress and President and coach of the local Youth and Men's Baseball Associations. A celebration of his life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday January 10 at the Huntersville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Vern Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the church. He is survived by his wife, Vera Mae Howell Stegall; sons, Edmund Stegall, Jr of Charlotte, Wayne (Vicki) McAuley of Mooresville, Mike (Pam) McAuley of Monroe, Steve (Wanda) MAuley of Cornelius; daughters, Diane Permenter of Huntersville, Diane Grachek (Tim) of Concord; son-in-law, Charles Permenter of Davidson; grandchildren, Nikki Permenter, Lindsey Stegall, Brandy (Tommy), Jeromy, Ryan, Megan, Michelle; great grandchildren, Jacob, Sophie, Eden; brother, Albert (Violet) Stegall of Marshville and sister Laura Love of Monroe. The family request memorials be made to the Huntersville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 313, Huntersville, NC 28070. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
