Mr. Edmund G. Stegall, 82 of Huntersville went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday January 7, 2012 at his residence. Born July 6, 1929 in Marshville, NC he was a son of the late Curtis and Alice Burgess Stegall. He was an active member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church where he served as Session member, Deacon and Elder. He was a former N.C. State Commissioner of the Stan Musial Division of the American Amateur Baseball Congress and President and coach of the local Youth and Men's Baseball Associations. A celebration of his life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday January 10 at the Huntersville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Vern Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the church. He is survived by his wife, Vera Mae Howell Stegall; sons, Edmund Stegall, Jr of Charlotte, Wayne (Vicki) McAuley of Mooresville, Mike (Pam) McAuley of Monroe, Steve (Wanda) MAuley of Cornelius; daughters, Diane Permenter of Huntersville, Diane Grachek (Tim) of Concord; son-in-law, Charles Permenter of Davidson; grandchildren, Nikki Permenter, Lindsey Stegall, Brandy (Tommy), Jeromy, Ryan, Megan, Michelle; great grandchildren, Jacob, Sophie, Eden; brother, Albert (Violet) Stegall of Marshville and sister Laura Love of Monroe.
