Pops was born in Puerto Rico on November 14, 1948 to the late Enrique Babilonia and Barbara Loperena.
Edgardo is survived by his wife JoAnn; sons, Eddie and Christopher; daughter, Cynthia; and ten grandchildren.
Big Ed was an amazing husband, father, papa, brother, son, uncle, father-in-law, friend, and an overall wonderful man. Ed was easygoing, laid-back, go with the flow. He loved his family more than anything and would go to any means for them. Ed was married to the love of his life for 50 years and he loved to break her chops just to get a laugh, but if you knew Pops, it was pure love and devotion towards her. Ed was hardworking, could build anything, create anything, and make any idea come to life. He loved food and cooking with his wife JoAnn. Ed loved music and played the organ, the guitar, piano, among other instruments, and in his teenage years was the lead singer of his band. He loved getting on the pool table and educating anyone who thought could beat him. When he wasn’t running the table, he was watching and talking trash from the sidelines. Ed was truly an exceptional man; most would say one of a kind. He shared many laughs and memories with everyone he came in contact with and everyone who knew him adored him. It was a blessing to have known him and to be a part of his life. He will forever be in our hearts and his spirit will live on forever. Heaven gained an Angel.
