Earl Carlton Foster was born March 5, 1941 in Trinidad, West Indies to Carlye Foster (d.) & May Daniel (d.) He was the 4th of 10 children. He grew up and spent his early adult life in Barataria, Trinidad and worked at St. Ann's Mental Hospital for 10yrs. He married Theresa Joachim in 1967. They migrated to the United States and made a life for themselves in Queens, NY. They raised two children, Terrance & Sherry. Earl worked as a Manager at Woolworth's in Manhattan, NY for over 15 years. The family moved to New Jersey where he worked as an Environmental Supervisor at St. Barnabas Medical Center for 26 years. Upon retirement the family moved to North Carolina where he enjoyed fishing, keeping up with current affairs, planting and his favorite wood-working. He had an amazing knack for repairing and building many things. Earl will always be known as a man of few words with a strong sense of humor. He had a habit of making jokes and repeating them often, much to his family's "delight". He enjoyed being with family, entertaining friends, listening to music and traveling to his homeland every year. On those yearly trips he treasured quality time with his mother (prior to her passing) and spoiling his grandkids Anthony, Brian & Julia. Family members, friends, neighbors, even the Doctors & nurses who cared for him have agreed that he was friendly, easy to talk to and helpful. He will be greatly missed.
