Douglas Andrew Overcast, 48, passed away on January 29, 2018. He was born on October 7, 1969. Those who knew Doug were often entertained by his offbeat wit and charm. He had a way of captivating everyone and leaving them with a big smile or a sense of wonder. He had a generous heart and always the first to offer help to anyone in need. He never met a stranger and could barely go anywhere without someone recognizing him. He loved operating his tractor and working in the yard as well as traveling to see all the natural wonders of the world. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife Dana, mother; Polly Ann Overcast. father; James Overcast, daughter; Brittany Overcast, three sisters; Susan Showers, Marianne Shepard and Tammy Overcast, brother; Grady Overcast, and uncle Tim Phillips.

A service will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 pm prior to the service.
