Dorothy Auten Sloop

Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" Auten Sloop, 59, of Stanley, NC died Thursday July 19, 2012 at Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC. Born March 19, 1953 in Prince George County, Maryland she was a daughter of the late John Harvey Auten and Joyce Viola Caldwell Auten. Dottie was a CNA II in the Post Intensive Care Unit at Gaston Memorial Hospital and CNA II of the Year for six years. She was well thought of and loved by all of her co-workers. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 21 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Rev. Jill Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Dale Lee Sloop; son, Joel Dale Sloop of Lincolnton, NC; sister, Diane Settlemeyer of Salisbury, NC; special friend, Anne Potts Chastaine and numerous extended family members.
