Dorothy Goodrum Fidler

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Goodrum Fidler of Davidson, age 97, died September 15, 2018.  She was born January 20, 1921 in Cornelius, NC, youngest child of the late Thomas L. Goodrum and Lilly Bolick Goodrum.  Dot grew up in Cornelius and lived there until 1947. She was a graduate of Cornelius High School and King’s Business College in Charlotte.  She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church while growing up in Cornelius.  Dot married John F. Fidler at Mt. Zion in 1942 and in 1947 she and her husband John moved to Charlottesville, Virginia where they lived for 52 years.  While living in Charlottesville, Dot was a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. In 1999 they moved back to North Carolina and she continued her membership at Mt. Zion.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, John F. Fidler, her parents Thomas L. and Lilly Bolick Goodrum, all of her siblings, Louise Mayhew and Isa Goodrum of Cornelius, Joe Goodrum of Mooresville, Carl Goodrum, Sr. of Cornelius, Emily Alice Caldwell of Mooresville.  She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius, NC.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
