Doris Anderson King

Doris Anderson King, 89, of Charlotte, NC died Tuesday September 16, 2014 at the Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home. Born November 23, 1924 in Mecklenburg County she was a daughter of the late Thomas Cinclair Anderson and Nellie Hargett Anderson. Mrs. King was a lifetime member of Cooks Memorial Presbyterian Church where she was involved in various activities and a graduate of Paw Creek High School. Prior to her retirement she was a legal secretary for Duke Energy. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Cooks Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following in the church parlor. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Reg King and wife Cathy of Charlotte and Chuck King of Raleigh; grandchildren, Courtney Eklund and husband Chris, Candace King and Garrett King and great granddaughter, Gracie Eklund. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband S.L. "Jack" King in 1998, daughter-in-law, Donna Holland King and eight siblings.
