Donald Raymond Twyman, widely known as Don, passed away peacefully at his home in Cornelius on January 14, 2024. He was born on February 6, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to L. Raymond Twyman and Olga Zwermann Twyman. Don's passing is mourned by his beloved wife of 47 years, Patricia N. Twyman, their children Donald R. Twyman Jr. and Stephen C. Brandt, daughter-in-law Laura Brandt, as well as his grandchildren Brandi Brandenburg, Aubri Brandt, and Sara Brandt with her husband Mike. Don was also blessed with great-grandchildren Owen, Zane, Brandt, and Minroe.
With a career spanning notable organizations and achievements, Don made a significant impact on the lives of those he encountered. He worked diligently for the American Red Cross in Detroit, Los Angeles, and New York before taking up leadership roles as the President of Digitome Corporation and Industrial Dynamics.
Don thrived on new challenges and was revered for his unwavering determination and stoic attitude. Despite facing numerous health challenges throughout his later life, he remained resilient and never allowed them to hinder his progress or dampen his indomitable spirit.
An adventurer at heart, Don found solace in travel. Over the course of his marriage to Pat that lasted 47 remarkable years which were filled with love and companionship, they journeyed together across continents exploring the world's richness in culture and beauty.
A testament to his adaptability nature is Don's ability to forge connections wherever he went despite moving homes seventeen times across four states during a span of forty-seven years. His ability to embrace new environments enabled him not only to excel in his career but also to make lasting bonds within each local community he called home.
Don will be deeply missed by his loved ones and all those whose paths he crossed. His exceptional drive, resilience, and capacity to bounce back from life's challenges have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the pleasure of sharing in his journey.
