Dominic Paul Theodossiou, a man whose laughter filled the room and joyfully echoed in the hearts of many, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on July 11, 1963, he was an extraordinary blend of warmth, humor, and love—a true party starter who knew how to enjoy life to the fullest.
Some may say Dominic was a cultured man. He was loved around the world and his character was imprinted by every place he lived. Dominic was born in London, England, spent his childhood in France, lived and started his family in Australia, and settled in North Carolina where he raised and expanded his family and found home. He made immediate connections wherever he went and cultivated those connections into lifelong relationships.
Dominic spent much of his professional journey in the food service industry, inclusive of delighting local diners as the proud owner of Theo's restaurant in New Bern, NC, where he incorporated live music into the dining experience. In recent years, he took to the road as a dedicated UPS delivery driver, always charming everyone he met along the way.
He exercised his competitive edge playing tennis and soccer at Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, North Carolina, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Those athletic days equipped him with the spirited energy that would define his relationships with family and friends—never back down from a challenge, whether on the field or in life!
At the center of Dominic’s universe was his family. He was a devoted patriarch, effortlessly balancing familial love and hilarious antics. He was the life of the party, and his fun-loving approach to life made him a cherished Bapa to his grandkids. His pride in his family was matched only by his zest for living, and he would often be found cooking up culinary delights, sharing his hearty laugh, or raising a glass to celebrate any occasion—big or small.
He is survived by his loving fiancée, Lisa Lemos; daughter Ashley Lindsey and her husband Jason, son Patrick Theodossiou and his wife Betsey, son Nicholas Theodossiou, daughter Cara Aylor and her husband Zach, and Chloe and Keaton Lemos; his granchildren, Carter, Zoey, Cami, Lily, Zander, Wren, Sawyer, Kit, Jasper, Baby A, and Freddie—will carry on his legacy of laughter and love. Also remembering him is his dear mother Patricia Theodore, brother Christian Theodossiou, and his two sisters, Stephanie Theodore and Nathalie Marsh, Dominic's former wife, Sandi Benton, and many extended family members around the world also hold fond memories of his vibrant spirit.
Though he leaves behind a big, loving family, Dominic is now reunited with his father, Achille Theodossiou, and his beloved dog, and long time companion, Sioux.
A Celebration of Life for Dominic will take place on January 11, 2025, starting at 5 PM, following a visitation hour beginning at 4 PM at Raymer - Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. **The family requests attire to be business casual or soccer jerseys are welcome, suits optional.** The Celebration of Life will be livestreamed and may be viewed below or by clicking LIVESTREAM.
Those wishing to send flowers in memory of Dominic, the family would prefer live arrangements rather than cut flowers.
Although he has crossed over to another realm, Dominic's larger-than-life spirit, hilarious tales, and loving heart will forever remain alive in the countless lives he touched. Let's raise a glass in his honor and remember him not with tears of sorrow, but with laughter, joy, and the unforgettable memories that he so lovingly gifted us all. Cheers, Bapa!
