Dixie Lee Rowland

Dixie Lee Rowland, 85, of Huntersville, NC passed away peacefully on Monday February 23, 2015. Dixie was born May 31, 1929 in Painesville, OH to the late Harry and Anne Van Derlay Smith. Dixie was a very good seamstress and she enjoyed painting. She loved to dance and be around people, especially entertaining in the local nursing homes. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick E. Rowland, and two sisters. Dixie leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Debra Darrah, of Huntersville; son, Roderick Rowland (Susan) of Fairfax, VA; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 7, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC, with Rev. Rick Felts officiating.
