Derrick "Tony" Antonio Bennett, 46 of Huntersville, NC died suddenly September 14, 2013 at Novant Health, Huntersville, NC. Born August 29, 1967 in Brooklyn NY he was the son of Herminia Patterson Bennett of Huntersville and the late Stanley Bennett. Tony loved spending time with his kids and watching his son play football and basketball. He was an artist, avid gamer, science fiction buff, martial arts enthusiast, loved football and technology. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Moses officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Community Cemetery in Cornelius, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In addition to his mother, Herminia, he leaves to cherish his memory his children, Derrick Bennett, Jr. and India Bennett; brother, Dennis (Deby) Bennett; sisters, Sherylann VanDuzen, Shaylah Bennett-Aeby; 4 nieces and 8 nephews.
