Dennis Orville Stear, Sr.

Dennis Orville Stear, Sr.,  81, of Cornelis, North Carolina passed away on January 6, 2024.

Dennis was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 26, 1942 to the late Orville and Bernice Stear. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Jack, Jim, and Gary Stear.

He worked as a heavy machine machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria, Illinois and proudly served with the United States Marine Corps as a teletype operator. Denny loved to play Pinochle and drink his Coca Cola. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Kay Stear; three sons, Dennis Jr. (Pam), Ricky, and Steven; three daughters, Donna Padget, Michelle Foley (Gary), and Terri St. Clair (Curtis); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and numerous friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Denny's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
