David Allen Newton, Jr, age 80 of Huntersville, NC died Monday August 19, 2013 at his residence. Born August 26, 1932 in Detroit Michigan he was a son of the late David A Newton Sr and Frances Prewitt Newton. He was a US Army veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntersville and formerly a member of United Methodist Church in Mt Tabor New Jersey. He worked with his father for many years prior to taking over the business, Newton Metallo, retiring in 1998. David's passions were singing and bowling. He sang in church choirs since childhood, in the Morris Conservatory Choir in NJ for many years and Mecklenburg County Chorus in NC. He bowled in several leagues over the years and once bowled a 300. A Memorial Service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Friday September 6, 2013 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. A loving husband he leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Newton; sons, Stephen Newton and wife Ji of Ramsey, NJ, David Newton III of Atlanta Ga; granddaughters, Megan Newton of Ramsey, NJ and Elizabeth Newton of Elmwood Park. NJ; Stepsons, Frank Riehle and wife Vicki of Milford, PA, Michael Riehle and wife Maria of Manalapan, NJ; step daughter, Margie Weissman and husband Jason of Huntersville; grandchildren, Chloe, Chelsey, Kayla, Kassandra Riehle of Dingmans Ferry; PA grandson and granddaughter, Andrew and Caroline Riehle of Manalapan, NJ Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Service Huntersville NC is assisting the family.
