He’s most proud to be the big brother to a loving sister, Tyla M. Barnes. Darryl has always been a man committed to his family also sharing his life with his uncles, aunts and numerous fun-loving cousins. He never met a stranger and could always be counted on as a champion for the homeless and disadvantaged.
During his younger years, Darryl had a unique experience while living with his family in Okinawa Japan. While working on the family car with his dad, he was struck with inspiration for learning about automotive technology. This inspiration would later play a major part in his exciting future life.
After graduating from Cox Mill High School in Concord, North Carolina in 2012, Darryl went on to pursue studies in BMW Applied Science and also received his certification in Motorsports Management from Rowan Cabarrus Community College. But he was just getting started!
Darryl continued to follow his automotive passions by joining the fast-paced sport of NASCAR as Pit Crewman which quickly became his passion. Enjoying the “Need for Speed” and traveling the country with his teammates was his happiness and lasting memory for his family and friends. When not on the road with NASCAR, you could find him cruising the roadways on his motorcycle enjoying his approach to life which was living without limits! Darryl also shared his knowledge as an Automotive Service Advisor by providing countless travelers with safe automotive advice. But let’s not forget about his other passions, his mother’s Puerto Rican food, and meatloaf!
With all his exciting experiences, the highlight of Darryl’s life was his baptism on November 27, 2022,at Nokia Church in Charlotte.
