Daniel Courtlandt Geary

Mr. Daniel Courtlandt Geary, 84, of Concord, NC died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. Born April 15, 1926 in Passaic New Jersey he was the son of the late Daniel Geary and Genevieve Verinato Berinato Geary. Mr. Geary was a WWII US Navy veteran, received degrees from Hope College and Columbia University, was a Cosmetic Chemist; served as Treasurer and President of the American Cosmetic Society. He was a former member of Dutch Reformed Church in Clifton, NJ, and presently a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Concord, NC. During his years in New Jersey he volunteered as a Fireman, a Scout Leader, a Sunday School Teacher, and was an Honorary Fire Marshall in Washington Twsp, NJ. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13 at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC with Rev. Ken Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Ramah Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends 12:30 to 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home. He is survived by his sons, Daniel Courtlandt Geary II of Raleigh, Robert Armour Geary and wife Patricia of Huntersville, sister, Janice J. Caldwell of Michigan and grandchildren, Alyssa Brooke Geary and Eric Rogers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Gizella Isabel Miko Geary in 2007.
