Christopher “Chris” Thomas Sarpa, 55, of Cornelius, NC passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Chris was born on September 26, 1969, in Pompton Plains, NJ to Patricia Sarpa and the late Thomas Sarpa.
Chris graduated from Montclair State University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1991. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University in 2003. Chris worked in the banking industry for over 30 years in accounting and finance roles, most recently serving as Lead Financial Accountant, VP in the finance division with Wells Fargo.
Chris loved watching football with his wife, Shannon,and cheering for the Carolina Panthers or the New York Giants. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and enjoyed playing poker with friends. He spoiled his sweet dog, Dash, with multiple daily walks around the neighborhood or at the park. But his greatest joy and life achievement was being the father to his beloved children, Sophia and Nicholas.
In addition to his mother and her partner, Daniel Mecca, Chris is survived by his wife, Shannon Perry Sarpa; his children, Sophia Hope Sarpa and Nicholas Thomas Sarpa; his sister, Lisa Huss; four nieces and one nephew; and his faithful pet, Dash.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. A reception will immediately follow the service.
