Christopher Harvey Holcombe

Christopher H. Holcombe, beloved husband of Donna Rucker Holcombe, went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 7, 2014. Chris was born December 3, 1955 in Shelby, NC to Nina Jones Holcombe of Davidson, NC and the late Johnny A. Holcombe. He was a very successful architect and general contractor. Chris was a wonderful and generous husband and a loving father to his daughters, Sommer Michelle Holcombe, Jessica Holcombe, and Brooke Holcombe, and a man who always put others before himself. Chris is also survived by his sister Becky H. and Charles Rader , and in-laws, Dana and Mary Ruth Rucker , Dana and Debra Rucker and Joe and Judy Rucker along with many nieces and nephews. Chris loved to laugh and play golf but most important to him was his family and church. He was a vital and integral part of his church, and a man who listened with an attentive ear and stood up for what he believed in. His family will miss him terribly and look forward to the day they can be with him again. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday July 10, 2014 at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. A funeral service to honor Chris will be conducted at 11 am on Friday July 11, 2014 at Lake Norman Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Lake Norman Baptist Church 7921 Sam Furr Rd.
