Cheryl Ann McElroy

Cheryl A. McElroy, 69, of Huntersville, NC (formerly of Saugerties, NY) passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 11, 2024 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Cheryl was born in Fountain Hill, PA on May 27, 1954 to the late Irene (Krupa) McElroy and Mahlon McElroy.

Cheryl worked many years as a manager in the cement industry.  She loved animals, music, dancing, golf, and was an avid Penn State fan (her alma mater).

She is survived by her sister Tracy O’Hara (husband Gerald) Huntersville, NC, sister Cynthia Kloss, Mesa AZ, brother John McElroy (wife Barbara), Pocono Lake, PA.  Nieces and nephews:  Katlin O’Hara, Joseph O’Hara, Danielle Geist, Joshua Kloss, Amy Miller, Brandon McElroy, Lindsey McElroy. Several great nieces, her most adored fur babies Lola, Sophie, Sergio and Sadie, as well as many dear friends.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring in Saugerties, NY.

Memorial donations may be made to Blue Chip Animal Refuge (Dallas, PA), Camp Kresge/Greater Wyoming Valley YMCA (Wilkes Barre, PA), or Novant Health Hospice (Charlotte, NC).
