It is with great sadness that the family of Charlotte Ann Law announce her passing on Monday September 19th, 2022, at the age of 87.
Charlotte was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on October 3, 1934. She was the daughter of Hazel and Edgar Law, the oldest daughter of eight siblings raised in Haworth NJ. She married James Wallwork and went on to have three children, Peter, Liza and Charis. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Art at Northwestern University in Illinois while raising her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed baking bread, walks on the beach, tennis, photography, painting and spending time with family and friends. Charlotte was a strong woman who was exceptionally independent, selfless, and gifted with helping others. She was a huge advocate for children and volunteered many hours with the Guardian Ad Litem in West Palm Beach, Florida. Charlotte taught art education and was such an art enthusiast that she also gave private art lessons to children in the neighborhood.
Charlotte was predeceased by her parents Hazel Hendricks Law and Edgar Fuller Law and her brothers Edgar, Jim, John, Peter and sister Hazel McNally. She is survived by her brother Tom Law and his wife Carole, sister Bezzie Woodson and her husband Ned; her children Peter Wallwork and his wife Jeanne, and their children James Wallwork and his wife Amanda and Tyler Wallwork and his wife Kara, Liza Short and her husband Mike, and their children Nicholas and Katherine and her husband Brian, Charis Painter and her husband Bruce and their children Kaitlyn and Kyle, along with great grandchildren Lilly and William Wallwork and Violet and Nicholas Wallwork. Charlotte will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and we will always carry her memory in our hearts.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral home in Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends for a gathering from 10 am until the start of the service. Following the service, Charlotte will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Community Cemetery in Cornelius, NC.
