Charles H. Lemmons "Squeezer" passed away Monday July 21, 2014 at Levine Dickson Hospice House. Born in Gaffney SC, August 28, 1925, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Q. W. Lemmons. He grew up in Cliffside, Forest City and Spindale, NC and attended Rutherfordton and Spindale High School. He entered World War II in 1943, serving five years on the USS Telamon (ARB-8) in the Pacific Ocean, until 1950. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a truck driver with Johnson Motor Lines for 31 years, a member of the Teamster retiree Local # 71, American Legion # 321 and Charlotte Trinity Church of Nazarene. Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday July 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West in Charlotte. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Betty R. Lemmons; children, Gary Lemmons of Virginia Beach, VA, Buddy Lemmons of Charlotte, Jimmy Axson of Charlotte, Donnie Axson of Abilene , KS, Veda Benfield of Mooresville, NC and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
