Chalma Grace Smith, 70, of Huntersville, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born October 26, 1943 in Grand Jct., Colorado. Chalma is survived by her husband Steve F. Smith; sons, Phillip A. Smith and wife Audrey, Stephen S. Smith and fiancé` Michelle and family; granddaughters, Stacy Smith, Racheal Smith and Maggie Rose Smith; grandsons, Christopher Smith and wife Frances, Eric Smith, Cody Skaggs, Sam Skaggs, Dustin Skaggs; great grandsons, Brayden M. Smith and Fischer A. Smith; sister, Norma Lind and husband Alfred. She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Alan and Mildred Booth, and brother Alan Booth. Chalma was a member of Chapman Memorial Baptist Church on Valleydale Rd, Charlotte. She has been a devoted teacher of the word of God and reached the lives of hundreds of people. Her legacy of teaching is still being remembered today and many years to come. Her love for her family has been a treasure and locked into the hearts of all. There are countless number of friends who have been touched by her love and devotion. Visitation for Chalma will be Wednesday April 23, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Chapman Memorial Baptist Church on Valleydale Road. Funeral services in celebration of Chalma's life will be Thursday April 24, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Chapman Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Brett Champion and Rev. Steve Bass officiating. Burial will be at Northlake Memorial Gardens on Alexanderana Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the charity of the donors choice.
