Carol A. Frank, 74, passed away on February 8, 2018. She was born in Lebanon, PA on March 10, 1943 to the late Robert and Josephine Frank.
She moved to North Miami, FL with family in 1953. Carol graduated from North Miami Senior High School in 1961, Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Miami, Fl in 1964, and received her BSN in 1991 from City University, Seattle, WA. She practiced nursing in hospital emergency rooms in Miami, Seattle and Northern Virginia. In 1991,she started managing hospital infection control programs in Northern Virginia, Georgia and Florida.
In 2008, Carol moved to Cornelius, NC to be near Shannon, Bill & Billy “the love of her life”.
Carol retired in 2009 after 45 years of nursing and started volunteering at JV Washam Elementary School, Cornelius library, and the free medical clinic and crisis assistance at Ada Jenkins, Davidson, NC.
Carol participated in various activities at Cornelius Presbyterian Church including singing in the choir.
Other interests included family and friend activities, gardening, reading and spending lots of time with her cat, Ginger.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon MacDonald, and brother, Michael Frank.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Bill MacDonald; grandson, Billy MacDonald, both of Cornelius; niece Tabetha Quina and family of Gilbert, SC; and cousins, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Sparks of Lebanon, PA.
A memorial service will be held at Cornelius Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. ( Please check back for service dates & time)
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornelius Presbyterian Church.
