Carla Joan Benifield

Carla Joan Benifield, 59, of Sharon, South Carolina passed away peacefully April 14, 2021.

She was born March 21, 1962 in Mecklenburg County to Annette Bramlett Benifield and the late William S. Benifield.  In addition to her father, Carla was preceded in death by her brother, Randall Neal Benifield.

Carla is survived by her mother, Annette Benifield; her sons, Brian A. Buchanan, Jr. and wife Amanda of Cherryville, NC, Ira N. Buchanan of St. Simons Island, GA, PFC Kenneth S. Sisk of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Christopher R. Benifield of the home; sister, Francine Bruneau; brother, Joseph W. Benifield; grandchildren, Brady A. Buchanan, Chloe M. Buchanan, and Sianna Lawter; as well as three nephews and two nieces.

Carla found joy in caring for others during her career as a Registered Nurse.  She enjoyed reading the Bible and writing down her favorite verses.  In her spare time, she loved writing poetry, spending time outdoors, and riding motorcycles.  Above all, she cherished time spent with her beloved family.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-4:00pm Friday, April 16, 2021 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville.  A graveside service will follow at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery.
