Carl Bert McKern

Carl Bert McKern, 70, of Denver, NC passed away on January 7, 2022 surrounded by his family.  Carl was born in Charlotte, NC on August 5, 1951 to the late C.P. (Mack) and Betty McKern . 

Carl was a loving husband, father and granddaddy.  He loved family, chess, music, his pets, birds, squirrels and the Carolina Panthers.  He enjoyed small, old fashioned diners in the Charlotte and Denver areas.  Carl was retired from the Banking Industry and served in the Navy between the years of 1971 and 1976.

He is survived by his wife, Judy McKern of Denver, NC; three daughters, Alysia East (Dave) of Gastonia, NC, Julie Smith of Denver, NC, Holly Watson (Matthew) of Denver, NC; one son, Chris Holbrooks (Chandra) of Denver, NC; six grandchildren, Grace and Caden Holbrooks, Parker and Presley Smith, and Wyatt and Sawyer Watson, all of Denver, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate Carl’s life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

*The family will be dressed casually in their Carolina Panther attire and all guests are welcome to join.*
