Brett Synek

With deepest sorrow, we announce that our most beloved Brett Peter Synek, 47, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday January 2, 2020. He was born in Oceanside, NY on July 28, 1972 to Lynn Anne Synek and the late Peter Stanley Synek but grew up by the beautiful coastal shores of Lindenhurst, NY, which he considered home.

Brett is survived by his mother, Lynn Synek; sister, Coreen Synek; fiancé, Carol Wong; uncle, Guy Hurley; aunt, Lori Hurley; and extended family members.

Brett enjoyed preparing delicious and creative meals, was coined “the man of travel & leisure” who had the opportunity to travel the world and enjoyed many great adventures with his fiancé, Carol. The ocean was a place Brett loved and something he respected. He understood its beauty along with its dangers, but Brett was most contented and was happiest with the serene magnificent of its mysterious majesty.

Brett was known for being loyal, dependable and truly a man of integrity. Brett, a man with a big presence, had an honest, caring and a tremendously generous loving soul.

We LOVE and MISS you so much and are so very, very proud of all the life’s challenges you overcame and all of your life’s accomplishments. You worked hard, persevered, revered by your peers, made great advancements towards the start of a challenging, extremely fulfilling, and successful new career.

Those who knew Brett even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Brett will be missed everyday by his loving family and many, many great friends.

We know Brett is loved here on earth as he is in heaven.

Brett will be eternally memorialized as a permanent living legacy, becoming part of the coral reefs and its preservation (www.eternalreefs.com) In lieu of a funeral service, we invite and welcome all to join the family for Brett’s celebration of life, burial at sea. It shall take place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with the date and details to follow.
